QuTec Roots and History


  • Vanguard Presswork Ltd formed
  • 2 Partners / 2-3 Employees
  • Developed, produced and supplied into caravan, trailer and horsebox industry
  • Developed own towing coupling for UK and Euro market


  • Vanguard Presswork Ltd expanded to 20 employees
  • Manufacturing components for automotive industry as 3rd tier supplier


  • Built and moved to new 15,000sqft factory site
  • Current Cobham Road site


  • Robotic welding and fabrication added


  • Sold Vanguard Presswork Ltd with ongoing £2.5M revenue concern


  • Brian Cunningham purchased the assets of Evesham Metal Pressing
  • Reformed as QuTec Pershore Ltd
  • Metal pressing, welding and Toolroom capacities
  • Roger Collins (EMP employee) appointed Technical and Quality Director
  • 35 EMP customers adopted


  • Keith Tilsley appointed Purchasing Director
  • QuTec developed own product range for air-conditioning industry


  • Purchased Biltoe Engineering Ltd; Presswork company
  • Customer base developed and streamlined to include domestic heating and white goods


  • Diversification to laser cutting
  • Purchased Amada Alpha III laser


  • Purchased assets of AllFab (Fabrication)
  • Customer base developed and streamlined


  • Added further fabrication machinery to include:
    • Punch Press
    • Press Brake
    • Guillotine
    • Welding


  • Greg Cunningham joined QuTec
  • Objective to implement and manage strategic plan to modernise and grow company
  • Purchased another 6,000sqft fabrication unit


  • Achieved additional £3/4m production for fab and press shop
  • Purchased additional new Amada FO Mrk II 4k/w laser


  • Purchased Barrel Shot blasting machine to service DDS23 requirement for major Customer
  • Expanded welding capacity
  • Carl Brown appointed to the QuTec senior team as “Operations Manager” with remit to take full responsibility for Operational and Production improvement, taking full responsibility for the performance of our entire factory operative team.


  • Greg Cunningham appointed CEO
  • Change and transformation program commenced
  • Invested heavily in additional employee and factory operative skillsets and re-organised 1st line structure and responsibilities (on-going).
  • Started program to reorganise & modernise company footprint, systems, methodology and processes


  • Additional £1/2m new production
  • Investing in new sales and marketing approach
  • Targeting – Design, patent and launch of new QuTec product to marketplace
  • Targeting additional business acquisitions for company group growth
  • Pursuing a number of further accreditations linked to our ISO 9001 – 2008 standards


  • Darren Clark appointed “Quality Manager” with remit to take full responsibility for Quality performance within QuTec by June 2017
  • Re-organisation of Senior team to be finalised by year end
  • QuTec gained CE marking EN 1090 EXC. 2 accreditation for construction / fabrication welding
  • Achieved significant capital investment funding through Worcestershire CC
  • Purchased new Amada HFE 3i 1704 7 Axis Press brake (4mtr / 170T capacity) to further enhance fabrication offerings
  • Targeting additional Business acquisitions within company growth strategy


  • Carl Brown promoted to “Operations Director” from January 2018
  • QuTec achieves “Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015” accreditation in May 2018
  • Continued machinery investment strategy with purchase of CNC Vertical Milling Centre, to enhance machining offerings to our customer base
  • Continue to pursue & manufacture “CE Marking 1090 Class execution construction opportunities”
  • Additional ¼M contract p.a added to our Pressing operations
  • Developing six new customers/markets in our Fabrication operations
  • Continuing to partner a fantastic customer base
